For our talented nutritionists, delivering nutrition education in regional and remote Western Australia is a highlight, not only because of the often unique destinations but because of the lasting impact they make. <\/h4> <\/div> <\/div>

Thanks to funding from Mineral Resources<\/span><\/a> and PLS<\/span><\/a>, our nutritionists recently travelled to Port Hedland where they visited three schools: South Hedland Primary School<\/span><\/a>, Baler Primary School<\/span><\/a>, Strelley Community School<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0\n <\/p> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/section>

A total of 9 sessions were run across the week, with 159 students taking part in our nom! Schools sessions from kindy age, right through to Year 10. <\/h4>

The excited students learned about a range of different nutrition topics including the Australian Guide to Healthy Easting, food safety and storage and mindful eating.\n <\/p>

The most popular part of each session was tasting the delicious meals from a range of recipes from our Let’s Cook #2<\/a><\/i>, Best of Healthy Recipes\u00a0for All<\/a><\/i> and nom! Recipe booklets<\/a>. <\/p>

The teachers had positive feedback they shared which really highlights the impact we make:\u00a0‘for many in my group, it was their first time cooking, which made the experience even more meaningful. It was wonderful to see them step out of their comfort zones, work together, and gain confidence as they learned new skills’ and ‘students were eager to learn and try new foods. The recipe books were helpful and students are still trying the recipes weeks later.’<\/span><\/i> <\/p>

We can\u2019t wait to visit the Pilbara region again soon. Thank you Mineral Resources and PLS for making our trip possible so we can teach healthy habits for life.\n <\/p>
