The term "shamanism," which first appeared in late 17th century Russia, was used to describe the practices of indigenous/pagan spiritual leaders in Central and Northern Asia.  Its definition has since expanded to include similar mystical practices of pagan spiritual leaders worldwide.  Join Dr. Claire Fitzpatrick for the second of a series of classes on shamanism, continuing with the tribes of North America. We will learn about the history of spiritual practices among medicine men/women in the United States and Canada and share some of their stories.  Dress comfortably.
