The severed fragments of collage mingle and meander in the oil paintings of Keith Brough. His oil paintings, while designed to entice the eye with colorful composition, encourage the viewer to explore and re-read meanings half-erased, yet emboldened, on fragmented surfaces.
His artwork has been exhibited throughout New England in libraries, coffee shops, and bars, as well as group shows at Knights Templar Oasis, a chapter of Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O). Keith was among the featured “Best in Show Artists” in the Around the Coyote Art Festival in Chicago, IL in the fall of 2002. Recent exhibitions include Gordon Bennett Pub (Williamsburg, NY) and Molten Java (Bethel, CT). In his free time he teaches Tarot workshops focusing on creative ritual construction involving Hermetic Qabalah, Indian philosophy, alchemy, and a plurality of spiritual traditions. Several years ago he was raised a Master Mason and is a brother at Harmony Lodge No. 42 A.F. & A.M.
